Hicksville’s John Petrucelli was recently named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week and named to the East Coast Conference Honor Roll. Petrucelli is a senior at Molloy College, where he plays as a forward on the Men’s Basketball team.
He recently helped the team to a pair of wins, defeating Roberts Wesleyan and Daemen. He averaged 26.0 points per game, 7.0 boards per contest, 4.5 assists per game and 5.0 steals per contest. Petrucelli also shot 48.6 percent from the floor.
In this past Saturday’s game against American International College, Petrucelli helped lead Molloy to vcitory, pouring in a game-best 27 points. He went for an 8-for-15 from field goal range (53 percent) including 3-for-4 from three-point land, as well sinking eight free throws, picking up five rebounds, three assists and four steals.
