New Hyde Park Memorial High School recognized Aisha Abdelhamid and Jerin Abraham as Students of the Month. Abdelhamid is a seventh grade student in Mrs. Caliendo’s Italian 7 class. She is a hardworking and dedicated student. She achieves excellent test and quiz grades and completes all tasks in a timely fashion. Abdelhamid works well with other students and is always willing to help those around her.
She is also involved in extracurricular activities. Abdelhamid is a member of the Mathletes team and plays on the school’s volleyball team. She is also a part of the Muslim Student Association.
Abraham is in Ms. Burkhard’s 10th-grade global history class. Burkhard has had the pleasure of having Abraham as a student for two years, in both her ninth-and 10th-grade class.
Abraham participates in class discussion on a daily basis and has been a great asset to his class. Each day when the bell rings to start class, Jerin shares his “Joke of the Day” with the class to set the tone of the period.
