The next meeting of the Farmingdale Board of Education will be held on Feb. 26, at 8 p.m., in the Howitt Middle School cafeteria.
Thursday, February 27
Winter Wonderland Expo
On Feb. 27, the Village of Farmingdale and the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will throw the first-ever Winter Wonderland Expo at Village Hall, located at 361 Main St. The event will run from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., and will include a Taste of Farmingdale, a meet and greet, a community open house for neighbors, merchants, friends and family.
Common Core Seminar
On Feb. 27, New York State Assemblyman Thomas McKevitt will host a seminar, from 7-9 p.m., to discuss the Common Core Learning Standards.
American Planning Association
On Feb. 27, at 4 p.m. approximately 20-25 people will assemble in front of Village Hall in Farmingdale for a walking tour run by the American Planning Association Long Island Section.
Saturday, March 1
Farmingdale HS Fashion Show
The annual school fashion show will take place on March 1, at 6 p.m. inside Farmingdale High School. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. All proceeds go to the scholarship fund. So come support this great event and watch our models (both students and faculty) strut their stuff on the runway.
Sunday, March 2
St. Luke’s Mardi Gras Parade
On March 2, St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Farmingdale will be celebrating Mardi Gras with a parade along Prospect Street, which will begin at noon and will be followed by the Burning of the Palms.
23rd Annual Bethpage St. Patrick’s Parade
Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with a Mass at St. Martin of Tours Church. The parade steps off at 2 p.m. and begins along Central Ave. in Bethpage, down Stewart Ave. and returning on Broadway to the Showmobile where the Grand Marshal and elected officials will view the parade.
Grand Marshal Tess Steubing, family, friends and visiting dignitaries will join the color guard, pipe bands and marching units to lead the parade through downtown Bethpage.

Farmingdale Board of Trustees
The next meeting of the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale Board of Trustees will be held at 8 p.m., on March 3, inside Village Hall, located at 361 Main Street.

Elementary Schools PTA
The next meeting of the joint-Albany Avenue, Northside, Saltzman East Memorial, and Woodward Parkway Elementary schools PTA will be held March 4 at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 5
Ash Wednesday
On March 5, the Farmingdale United Methodist Church, located at 407 Main Street, will conduct Ash Wednesday services at noon. Call 516-694-3424 for more information. Seven Methodist Churches in the area will also offer a combined Ash Wednesday service at 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, located at 25 Broadway in Amityville. All are welcome.

Chamber of Commerce Meeting
The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its next general meeting at noon on March 6 at Bellagio Pizza Restaurant, located at 211 Airport Plaza. At the meeting, there will be a presentation on holding government accountable from guest speaker Susan Lerner, executive director of Common Cause New York.
Junior Women’s Club Meeting
The next meeting of the Junior Women’s Club of Farmingdale will be held from 7:30-10:00 p.m., on March 6, at Village Hall, located at 361 Main Street in Farmingdale.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade Deadline

The parade will be held on March 23, along Main Street in Farmingdale.

Pasta Dinner and Toy Drive
On March 9, the Village of Farmingdale Fire Department’s Junior Brigade is having a pasta dinner and toy drive, from 1-5 p.m., at Village Hall, located at 361 Main Street in Farmingdale. The event costs $10 for adults and $5 for children. All unwrapped toy donations will go to the Cohen Childrens Hospital at LIJ. Call 516-531-9820 for more details.
Backyard Horticulture
On March 9, the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society will be hosting this gardening program just in time for Spring planting. Organized by JoAnne Bihary, the event starts at 2 p.m. at the Farmingdale Public Library.

St. Kilian’s Food Pantry
Located at 140 Elizabeth Street, St. Kilian’s church serves anyone who lives within our parish boundaries regardless of religion, race or ethnicity. The Food Pantry is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. We are also available certain Saturdays by appointment only. Spanish translators are available Tuesdays and Fridays.
