North Middle School will present Willy Wonka, on Thursday, March 27, and Friday, March 28, both evenings at 7:30 p.m., in the school auditorium, 77 Polo Rd.
Willy Wonka is a timeless story of the famous candy man and his quest to find an heir. Five lucky children who find a golden ticket hidden among millions of Wonka chocolate bars will win a lifetime supply of Wonka chocolate and be given a tour of the candy factory and all its secrets.
The tour is actually Wonka’s competition to find his successor. Nobody wants to find a golden ticket more than young Charlie Bucket, but his family is so poor that buying even one bar of chocolate is a treat, buying enough bars to find one of the five golden tickets is not likely. But magic happens in this “scrumdidilyumptious” musical and Charlie gets his wish.
At the end of the adventuresome tour, he is the one chosen to take over the candy factory due to his honesty and ethics.
