The rebuilding process at Albertson based-Clark Botanic Garden goes on.
Recently, the garden received a $250,000 grant from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) to construct a new greenhouse.
“This brand new greenhouse will allow us to beautify Clark Botanic Garden, and add to the native flowers and plants that already make it one of the most aesthetically pleasing sites in the town,” Supervisor Bosworth said.
“Clark Botanic Garden is an important part of both Albertson and the Town of North Hempstead,” added Councilman Peter Zuckerman. “The addition of the greenhouse will help us continue to enhance the beauty of our parks.”
Plans for the new greenhouse, town officials said, include two individual sections that will allow for different climate settings to help accommodate a variety of plants showcased at Clark Garden and at parks across the Town of North Hempstead.
The new structure, they added, would be more than double the size of the current greenhouse, which will also remain on the grounds. Construction is slated to begin later this year.
