A Class Act NY will be coming to East Hills this summer for its sixth annual Long Island Camp ACA.
The camp is now accepting early bird registration for the camp, which will be held at the Sid Jacobson JCC in East Hills.
The camp will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 25 – Friday, Aug. 29. There is an early drop off option. The camp is for children ages 7-17.
Early bird cost (those received by Friday, April 15) is $645/members, $770 for non-members.
Cost after April 15 is $695/members, $770 for non-members.
The cost includes ticket to the Broadway matinee and transport to and from Manhattan.
Camp ACA is a special camp where a Broadway will be the Broadway instructor for the week. Specifically, it is a one-week Broadway camp that has proven highly popular with Roslyn area youngsters.
The camp includes numerous workshops with Broadway actors. They include:
• Musical Theatre Technique
• On-Camera Workshop
• Broadway Dance
• Vocal Training
• Introduction to Shakespeare
• Introduction to Stage Combat
• Introduction to Stage Make-up
Also included is a Broadway Matinee & Talk Back, where campers also see a Broadway Matinee and have a talk back with actors after the show.
At the end of the week, campers make their Off-Broadway debut in a final performance at an exciting theatre in the heart of the Great White Way and Long Island campers make their debut at the JCC’s state-of-the-art 200-seat theatre. Every family is allotted three complimentary tickets to the final showcase. Cost of camp also includes a free camp tee shirt.
During lunch break, Broadway actors visit with campers to answer questions and sign autographs.
