Kindergartners at A.P. Willits Elementary School in Syosset participated in a special teddy bear picnic on April 9, which served as the culminating activity to their library teddy bear literature and computer technology unit. Library teacher Margaret Liss first read Niki Yektai’s “Bears in Pairs,” which emphasizes rhyming and opposites, to the students, who brought in teddy bears of their own to hold during the activity. The kindergartners presented their bears in front of the class in pairs and enjoyed a small snack together.
