A 71-year-old Port Jefferson died after he suffered a medical condition while driving a Winnebago, which crashed in Old Bethpage on Monday morning.
Nassau County police said Edward Daubel was driving southbound on Round Swamp Road when he lost control, striking a tree and a utility pole near Old Bethpage Road shortly before noon.
Daubel was taken to a nearby local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His 68-year-old wife, who was riding with him as a passenger, was treated for pain to her head and neck.
Second Squad detectives impounded the vehicle for a safety check while the investigation is continuing.
