Town Budget Hearing
On May 6, the Island Trees School District will host a public hearing on the Hempstead Town budget. The hearing will be held from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Stephen E. Karopczyc school at 74 Farmedge Road in Levittown.

The next budget hearing / regular meeting of the Levittown Board of Education will be held at 7:30 p.m., on May 7, at the Levittown Memorial Education Center at 150 Abbey Lane in Levittown.
Shopping Extravaganza
On May 7, Gardiners Avenue Elementary School PTA will be holding a shopping extravaganza at Levittown Hall in Hicksville. From 5:30-9:30 p.m., come and shop from over 50 vendors, where you are guaranteed to find a great gift for Mother’s Day. For more information call 516-351-9462.

On May 10, funny guy Bobby Collins will give two performances at Governor’s Comedy Club, at 90 Division Ave. in Levittown. Collins will perform at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $28-$58. Admission is 18 and over.

On May 12, the Island Trees School District Board of Education will hold its “Meet the Candidates” night to introduce the incumbents/challengers running for the board this May. The forum will be held at the Island Trees High School at 7 p.m.

On May 12, the Island Trees PTSA will hold a special volunteer dinner at 7 p.m., inside the Island Trees Memorial Middle School, at 45 South Wantagh Ave.

“Doctor Dirty” at Governor’s
On May 17, join comedian John Valby aka “Doctor Dirty” as he performs at Governor’s Comedy Club, located at 90 Division Ave. in Levittown. Doors open at 5 p.m., with showtime starting promptly at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25-$55. Admission is 18 and over.

Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
In celebration of National Emergency Medical Services week, the Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps. will be hosting an Open House on May 18, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Events will include free blood pressure screenings, ambulance tours, Vial of Life kits, membership drive, and so much more. Children are also invited to bring a teddy bear to the first Teddy Bear Clinic where they will learn basic first aid. School Budget / Board Elections
Whether you reside in either of the Island Trees or Levittown school districts, on May 20, registered voters can cast their ballots on the school budget. Levittown currently proposes a $198.7 million, which comes with a 1.62 increase in the tax levy. Island Trees is proposing a $59.6 million budget, which comes with no tax levy increase this year.
