HEARTS is holding a fundraiser in partnership with 16 Handles, where, on Thursday, May 15, between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., a portion of all sales of soft serve yogurt and toppings at 16 Handles will be donated to HEARTS. 16 Handles is located at 1005 Port Washington Boulevard.
This fundraiser will benefit all the programing that is supported by HEARTS’ grant programs that help support arts programming in Port Washington School District.
HEARTS is an independent, grassroots, not-for-profit 501(c)3 community organization whose mission is to add meaningful value to children’s lives and the community by supporting, promoting and enriching the arts in Port Washington and its public schools. In 2014, HEARTS awarded 18 grants of over $30,000 to enrich art, music, theater, and writing programming throughout the Port Washington School District.
HEARTS biggest fundraiser—PortFest 2014—will be held on May 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Schreiber High School. This family-themed festival will feature local artists, musicians and performers of all ages. There will be interactive arts and crafts for the whole family, plus demonstrations, and food. This annual event serves to celebrate, strengthen and promote the unique culture, arts and community of Port Washington while raising funds to support quality creative arts education in our public schools.
