Lady Dalers Do It Again

After a hard-fought battle for the Nassau County Lacrosse Class A Championship, on May 28, the Lady Dalers of Farmingdale would defeat the Syosset Braves 12-7, capturing the team’s ninth straight championship title.

Since 2001, the Lady Dalers have won 13 county championships, 7 Long Island championships, and three New York State championships.

Playing to a big crowd at Adelphi University, the Lady Dalers came out on the offensive early, putting away 7 goals before the Braves would score with 4:25 remaining in the first half.

Having already scored 5 of her 8 goals of the night, the Dalers’ Bridgett Weill would lead the squad into the half, up by a score of 8-2.

In the second half, the Lady Dalers started out a little slow, giving the Braves a window of opportunity to score twice. But it wasn’t long before Weill went back to work, scoring three more times.

Farmingdale’s Chrissy Kelly also gave a breakout performance, with seven assists and a goal, while Goalie Captain Kirk kept the team in it with 12 saves in the game.

The Lady Dalers’ Jill Alonso, Zoe Zebersky and Cailee Perettine would also score, giving Farmingdale a shot at defending their Long Island Championship title.

The Lady Dalers will now head to Dowling College to face-off against the Suffolk County Class A Champs.
