A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in his hometown of Bay Shore man early Sunday morning.

Suffolk County police said Jimmy Espinal was riding a Honda motorcycle southbound on 1st Avenue when he failed to negotiate a turn at 9th Avenue, struck the curb and crashed into a road sign and a fence at 4:20 a.m.

Espinal was pronounced dead at the scene.

Third Squad detectives impounded the motorcycle, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-854-8352 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
