An unidentified dead woman’s partially dismembered body was found in a parking lot in downtown Bay Shore on Tuesday morning, Suffolk County police said.
Two people who were walking to the Fire Island ferry terminal on Maple Avenue called 911 after making the discovery at a municipal parking lot on Gibson Street shortly before 7 a.m., police said.
The remains will be taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the woman’s identity and cause of death.
