Summer Concert: Risky Business

Garden City’s Department of Recreation and Parks is happy to announce the schedule of its concert series “Summer Music on the Village Green.” The concert series will be held at the gazebo on the corner of Stewart and Hilton Avenues. Concerts are held on Thursdays beginning at 7:15 p.m. Concerts are held rain or shine. In the event of less than perfect weather, the concert will be held at the Cultural and Performing Arts Center in St. Paul’s Cluett Hall, 295 Stewart Ave.

Cupcake Wars

Lee Perrotta will return to the Garden City Public Library to host Cupcake Wars from 7–8:15 p.m. “Warriors” on two teams will create desserts using fillings, frostings and secret ingredients. Voting will determine the winners. Registration began online on Eventkeeper on Monday, June 16 for Cupcake Wars. This program is limited to 24 YAs. Marvelous Movie Matinee

A screening of the 2001 film David Mamet film Heist starring Gene Hackman and Danny DeVito will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Garden City Public Library. The event will be held in Meeting Room B. Funding is provided by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. The library is located at 60 7th St. For more information, please call 516-742-8405.

Trip To Atlantic City To See Summer Lovin’,

A Bobby Darin And Connie Francis Tribute

Attendees will travel by coach bus to Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino on Twith arrival time of 11 a.m. Participants will receive $20 in slot play. Lunch is on your own. There will be plenty of time to gamble or enjoy the sun and then attendees will see the show. After the event, around 5 p.m., the group will head home. The cost of this trip will be $40, checks only made payable to Rendezvous Travel. Please note, once the fees are sent to the venues, they are not refundable so make your selections carefully. All trips are open to senior residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City only. Your Widowed Social Group

This is a non-sectarian, no-profit organization of widows and widowers 50 plus years of age. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month and are held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church located on Franklin Avenue and Fifth Street in Garden City. Frogs, Bugs, And Animals With Jason

From Green Meadows Farm

Learn more about animals at the fun family show, Frogs, Bugs, and Animals with Jason from Green Meadows Farm. This exciting live animal show will be held on at 7 p.m. and is for children ages 2 ½ through grade 5 and their families. Tickets are required. Ticket distribution began Saturday, June 28 at 9:30 a.m. in the Children’s Room. Each individual needs his or her own ticket to attend. Please arrive promptly. If you are late, your spot may be given to someone on the wait list. Funding for this program has been provided by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Six-hour course conducted by the AAA NY in the Garden City office located at 229 7th St. Save money; reduce violation points; sharpen skills.
