A New Hyde Park man was charged for a string of robberies and one grand larceny that began in late June and continued until his arrest on a rooftop Friday after he allegedly stole a jar of money from a laundromat in his hometown, Nassau County police said.

Michael Daddario fled on foot after allegedly leaving Mr. Sudz Laundromat on Hillside Avenue with the jar. Nassau police and Floral Park police conducted an extensive search and later located Daddario on the roof of a Cherry Lane business, police said.

An investigation following his arrest revealed that he allegedly hit five other business in the area, including a TD Bank, starting on June 29.

On the day prior to his arrest, Daddario allegedly stole money from a Dairy Barn, also on Hillside Avenue, after a brief struggle with the clerk, police said. That was the same Dairy Barn that police said Daddario allegedly hit three days earlier.

The other robberies occurred at a TD Bank in Floral Park on June 29, a Dairy Barn in Franklin Square, and a Baskin Robbins in New Hyde Park, both on July 9.

An unknown amount of cash was taken in all but one of the incidents, police said. Daddario allegedly grabbed $100 from someone inside the Baskin Robbns and fled.

He was charged with four counts of third-degree robbery, grand larceny and petit larceny. He was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
