A fatal shooting outside a Baldwin club is being investigated as a homicide, Nassau County police said.
First Precinct officers found two men—a 22-year-old and a 39-year-old victim—outside Love Jones Cafe and Lounge on Grand Avenue at 3:41 a.m. Saturday with gunshot wounds, police said. Officers were responding a to a “disturbance” outside the club, police said. They didn’t elaborate.
Both victims were transported to local hospitals, police said.
The 22-year-old victim was admitted with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m. by hospital staff, police said. His identity is being withheld pending family notification, police said.
The second victim, who was shot in the leg, received treatment and was released.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
