On Friday, August 1, residents of Munsey Park experienced a blackout at 6:31 p.m.
Neighbors, puzzled by the loss of power, came out of their houses to see whether this was wide spread or localized. The hum of numerous generators was evident during the blackout.
The weather was overcast but with no wind or rain and relatively low humidity to cause an overload especially after the completion of Project Reliability by PSEG-Long Island.
Power was fully restored approximately 15 minutes later at 6:47 p.m.
