Last week’s heavy rains caused flooding at New Cassel’s “Yes We Can Community Center. At approximately 4 a.m., the rains damaged the walkway down to the 311 Call Center’s employee entrance and allowed approximately an inch of water to come through the lower level, which includes the 311 Call Center, dance studio, fitness center and part of the Office of Emergency Management’s command center. 311 continues its operations at its backup location at Town Hall until further notice and the Office of Emergency Management’s command center is still operational at “Yes We Can.” The fitness center and dance studio are closed as the town continues to assess the damage.
