Suffolk County police released new information in the hopes of finding the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that injured a 25-year-old man in the victim’s hometown of Central Islip.
The vehicle that fled after striking Edgar Abrego on Carleton Avenue on Sunday was described as a dark-colored minivan with damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle, specifically the driver’s side mirror, police said.
The driver is believed to have fled northbound.
The victim is being treated for serious injuries to his head and body at Stony Brook University Hospital.
