An 18-year-old Bay Shore man was killed in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning, Suffolk County police said.
James Barnett was riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle in East Farmingdale at 2:40 a.m. when he made a left turn from Central Avenue onto southbound New Highway and lost control, eventually striking a metal pole, police said.
Barnett sustained a serious head injury and was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.
Police did not say what caused Barnett to lose control.
