Short games of 30 minutes each with a round-robin format will start with the first three games at St. Mary’s at 11:30 a.m. and will continue on the two turf fields at Manhasset from 1:45 until 7 p.m.
Admission is free. The Manhasset Women’s Coalition for Breast Cancer will be out in full force to acknowledge the great pink month of October, and the Diane Whipple Foundation will be selling T-shirts to acknowledge the “LAX it up – and play 2 cure” event.
The Diane Whipple Foundation is a non-profit organization established by friends, teammates, and family members of Diane, who graduated from Manhasset High School in 1986.
Through donations and tournament proceeds, the foundation provides needs-based financial support to young women who wish to elevate their skills in lacrosse through participation in camps and club play and to communities developing women’s lacrosse programs.
Financial assistance by the foundation helps provide opportunities for young women to continue their love of sport through lacrosse and to realize important life goals.
