Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School recently unveiled the addition of a new bleacher system in conjunction with requirements set by the American Disabilities Act (ADA) to the outdoor turf athletic field.
New York State Assemblyman, Charles D. “Chuck” Lavine, sponsored a $150,000 grant to obtain the funding necessary for the new bleachers.
The ADA accessible bleachers will be completed in the summer of 2015 and will provide a better place for local fans to cheer on their favorite school athletic competitions and youth sports organizations, as well as to attend community events. The high school’s turf field is home to the Hawks football, soccer and lacrosse teams.
John F. Kennedy High School is extremely grateful to Assemblyman Lavine for his generous sponsorship.
