Plainedge Girls Scouts recently held a camporee in honor of 9/11 hero, Captain Kathy Mazza. The camporee was held at Girl Scouts of Nassau County Camp Blue Bay in East Hampton, New York. 
The older girls built benches to surround the campfire pits, while the younger girls decorated bricks to make the circle. The materials were donated by the Mazza/Delosh family and the Captain Kathy Mazza Lodge #2163A, Sons of Italy in America.
The girls learned about Mazza, her heroism and her devotion to nursing and the police force.
