The Floral Park Lions Club will hold its Annual Charity Holiday Breakfast and Chinese Auction fundraiser at the Floral Park Village Hall on Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A full hot breakfast will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the Chinese auction will begin promptly at 1 p.m.
There will be great raffle prizes for all ages and a special appearance by Santa Claus. Tickets for the event are $10 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 10, and may be purchased at the door or in advance; reservations are suggested.
Presently, the Lions Club of Floral Park has more than 55 members who volunteer their time and talent to raise money for a number of charities. Each year the Floral Park Lions sponsor scholarships to eligible Floral Park Memorial High School college-bound seniors. In addition, the Floral Park Lions Club supports and provides funds to distinct charities with an emphasis on vision care, diabetes education and individuals with visual impairments.
To help the Lions attain those goals you may purchase a $50 advertisement (includes two complimentary tickets to the breakfast) or contribute a gift certificate, a gift or make a cash donation for the Chinese auction.
For raffle prizes, gift certificates and monetary donations, deliver items to Lion Margaret Trasolini, 50 Plainfield Ave., Floral Park, NY 11001, or call her at 516-775-7940.
The $50 placemat advertisements are due by Dec. 10. Send one business card with a check made out to the Floral Park Lions Club and mail to Lion Terry Whalen, 29 Adelaide St., Floral Park, NY 11001, or call 516-488-5798.
For the past 89 years the Floral Park community, its businesses, and residents have been supportive and generous in regards to the Floral Park Lions. The club’s goal is to live up to the Lions motto: We Serve.
