Join the Village of Farmingdale at 6 p.m., on Dec. 5, for the rededication and annual tree lighting ceremony at Gerngras Park.

Christmas Fair
On Dec. 6 and 7, the St. William the Abbot School at 2001 Jackson Ave. in Seaford, will hold its annual Christmas fair, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring more than 60 artisans with hundreds of sale items, hot and cold food, fresh evergreen wreaths, attic treasures, baked goods, raffle prizes, 50/50 and of course, a visit from Santa Claus.
St. Luke’s Tree Lighting
On Dec. 6, join St. Luke’s Luteran Church, 190 Conklin St. in Farmingdale, at 4 p.m. for its annual tree lighting ceremony. Gingerbread Competition
On Dec. 13, the Chocolate Duck, 310 Main St. in Farmingdale, will host the second annual Long Island Gingerbread House Competition. Judging will begin at 9 a.m. and is closed to the general public. At noon, the exhibition will open to the public, with an awards presentation at 4:30 p.m.
This year’s theme is “the Gold Coast era,” and will feature structures inspired by the Gold Coast Mansions, Old Westbury Gardens, Sagamore Hill, Bayard Cutting Arboretum, the Great Gatsby House and more.
