A 34-year-old West Babylon man was killed when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tractor trailer and overturned in East Farmingdale on Wednesday morning.

Suffolk County police said Joshua Hoffman was driving a Saturn westbound on Route 109 when his vehicle struck an eastbound Mack Truck that was making a left onto Bi-County Boulevard at 5 a.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver, 43-year-old William Gustafson of Lititz, Penn., was not injured.

Motor Carrier Safety Section officers performed a safety check on the truck.

First Squad detectives impounded the Saturn and are continuing the investigation.
