On Jan. 10, at 3:08 p.m., the Plainview Fire Department received a 911 call reporting a house fire at 33 Vernon St. Unit 9501 was first due and reported smoke on the second floor and had the dispatcher transmit the working fire.
The Plainview Fire Department responded with engines 9511, 9522, 9544 and 9554, tower ladder 9533, ambulances 9559, 9529 and 9549, fire police units 9555, 9525, 9545, rehab 9530, and chiefs 9501 and 9503.
Mutual aid was received from Syosset, Bethpage, Farmingdale, Hicksville, Melville, Westbury, and South Farmingdale.
The fire was contained to a second floor bedroom and all units were secure by 5:02 p.m.
