The Syosset Fire Department was among the units to respond to a house fire on Vernon Street in Plainview on Jan. 10.
A 911 call was received by the Plainview Fire Department just after 3 p.m. with reports of smoke on the second-floor of the home.
The Plainview department responded with four engines, one ladder and three ambulance units. The fire was contained to the second-floor bedroom and was pronounced secure by around 5 p.m. There were no reported injuries.
Other departments sending units to the scene were Bethpage, Farmingdale, Hicksville, Melville, Westbury and South Farmingdale. — Kevin Imm
