Senior Enrichment Group 

Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. This month’s activities include: exercise, Bingo, ceramics, knitting, crochet, popular board games and a social hour. Levittown Public Schools Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the large board room at 150 Abbey Ln., Levittown.

COC Installation Dinner

Levittown Chamber of Commerce’s 54th Annual Installation of Officers and Directors will be held on Thursday, Feb. 5 at the Fox Hollow Country Club from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Cost is $65 per person and includes dinner, dancing and open bar. Email

Argentine Tango

Rhythms & Soul Dance Studio invites Argentine Tango lovers from across Long Island to take a beginner dance class or two. Classes are every Friday through Feb. 27 from 8 p.m.-midnight. Children’s Book Donation Drive

The Island Trees High School Foreign Language Honor Society is collecting new or gently used children’s books for Long Island Head Start. The program mainly works with children ages 3-5 years old, although they would also love books geared toward older children for the siblings of these children. These books are given to the children to keep, with the goal being to provide children with a literacy-rich home environment. Donations accepted until Feb. 13. Please bring all donations to the Main Office.

The ITMMS Players Present The Little Mermaid Jr. Ticket availability as follows: Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.; $5 for general admission, Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 4:15 p.m.; $2 for children through grade 4 and $5 for general admission, Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.; $5 for general admission.

Annual Winter Festival

Come celebrate the 14th annual WinterFest from11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Levittown Hall. WinterFest is a day of free fun and entertainment, including a puppet show, magic tricks, arts and crafts, balloon artists and theatre. Low-cost refreshments will be available for lunch. The Singles Association of Long Island, invite ages 25 plus to enjoy a dinner at the Hunan Dynasty Restaurant from 5-7 p.m. All drinks are cash and carry. Separate checks will be given. LWV  Program on Consumer Fraud

The League of Women Voters of East Nassau and the Levittown Public Library invite the public to a program on consumer fraud at the library on Feb. 18 at 3:30 p.m. Kenneth M. Heino, Assistant Commissioner of the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs will inform on how to avoid scams that prey on the innocent including loss of money, identity theft, stolen credit cards and how to protect your Social Security number. A general meeting will be help on Monday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m.

 

“Stress Management” Workshop

The Levittown Community Council and The Employee Awareness Association will be hosting “A Health Awareness Workshop” on Feb. 23. Dr. Matt Lewis, developer of the ONE weight loss program will be giving an informative presentation on stress management. Dr. Lewis has over four years in post graduate education in functional medicine and over a decade of experience in clinical nutrition. The presentation will last about twenty-five minutes and will be followed by a Q & A session. A healthy snack will be provided.
