The Action Party of Westbury announced it slate of candidates for the village elections to be held on Wednesday, March 18. Among those candidates is incumbent trustee Beaumont Jefferson.

The Action Party team emphasizes the experience of its candidates, and is running on its record of maintaining the village’s strong financial health.

Jefferson said “we are also proud that we have kept a lid on discretionary spending, and have been able to make village government operations more efficient. And, through efficiency measures and operational restructuring, we have enhanced certain services. Over the past four years, we have seen the opening of The Space at Westbury and a continuation of our award-winning downtown revitalization program. We have plans over the next four years to continue with our successful initiatives, and seek other ways to make Westbury better.”

Jefferson is running for his second full term on the board of trustees, and has served on the board since being first appointed to fill a vacancy in 2009. As trustee, Jefferson serves as commissioner of claims and audit and commissioner of personnel.

Jefferson serves as the treasurer for Nassau County. He has a 25 year background and previous work history in the financial services industry. Jefferson is a former president and current board member of the Sherwood Civic Association and former president of the Westbury Amateur Baseball Association (Westbury Little League). “If re-elected, I will continue to listen to our residents’ issues and concerns, work to find suitable solutions; and continue our focus on code and housing enforcement,” said Jefferson. “I love Westbury because of its central location and rich diversity. I hope for the opportunity to continue to serve in the role of village trustee so that I and my colleagues can continue to look for ways to maintain and improve the services and quality of life that residents and businesses have come to expect and enjoy.”

Jefferson and his wife Luisa have resided in the village’s Sherwood Gardens area for 21 years and have one son.
