Schools from all over Nassau County participate in the year round Trivia Challenge event and raise significant funds for the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. (ucpn). Now in its 30th year, the Trivia Challenge event brings students with great minds and good hearts together to help raise funds to benefit the programs and services ucpn provides for more than 1,800 children and adults challenged by disabilities.
The 2015 Trivia Challenge finals were held during the week of Feb. 23 at ucpn in Roosevelt. Two teams of students from South Woods Middle School competed in the challenge. Students participating in the 5th/6th grade category were Kevin Li, Joshua Yun and Michael Kopacz. Representing the school in the 7th/8th grade category were Julia Klimberg, Asher Gladstone, Rajat Shah and Brenda Chou.
Michelle Gevirtz, Development Associate at ucpn thanked all the students, teachers and family members for their generosity and support. The ucpn has been assisting individuals with disabilities since 1948. Today, more than 1,800 children and adults benefit form the quality programs and services offered by this not-for-profit agency. Funds raised through Trivia Challenge help fund vital programs at the agency.
