A 74-year-old woman was struck and killed by vehicle in Lake Success on Thursday morning, Nassau County police said.

The victim, who was found on the east sidewalk of Lakeville Road near the corner of Farm Lane, appeared to be struck by a vehicle and was in cardiac arrest at 10:45 a.m., police said.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly later. Her identity wasn’t immediately released.

A witness gave police a registration plate for a vehicle that may have struck the victim. Lake Success Police located and stopped the commercial vehicle nearby on East Shore Road. Investigators determined that it was involved and impounded it at the scene.

Police did not release the name of the driver. Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
