Maundy Thursday is on April 2 and will be celebrated with a service of foot washing and stripping of the altar at 7 p.m. The prayer vigil is from 8 to 10 p.m.
Good Friday is on April 3 and begins with the annual Good Friday Walk to raise awareness of the hungry and homeless on Long Island. Parishioners and friends walk for four miles through Garden City, Franklin Square, Stewart Manor and New Hyde Park. Parisioners gather at 9 a.m. in the church parking lot. All proceeds pledged or gathered go to the Interfaith Nutrition Network.
Also on Friday, the prayer vigil continues at 10:30 a.m. and at noon the Good Friday Liturgy takes place with Stations of the Cross at 1 p.m.
Sunday, April 5, is Easter. It starts with a 10 a.m. Festival Easter celebration and a brunch following. The annual Easter Egg Hunt is not-to-be-missed for children. If you haven’t been to Christ Church, consider visiting and try to arrive early in order have a good seat and to enjoy the music.
