Friends of the Sands Point Preserve is hosting two exciting photography programs on Saturday, April 18. Visitors can capture the beauty of the many trails, beachfront, gardens and more at the Guggenheim Estate.
Adults and families with children age 8 and over can participate in an instructional workshop on composition and other features to sharpen photography skills. This program is offered through the North Shore Land Alliance. Admission is $10 per car, or free with an annual pass. Preregistration is required. Email your name and the number of adults and children, with their ages, to info@friendspp.org.
If you have a digital camera or good phone camera, bring it for a picture scavenger hunt. Pick up your map and clues at the Castle Gould Visitor Center anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Find the mystery locations, and photograph interesting natural and man-made features at the Preserve so that you can share your success. The Preserve is offering a four-season series, and visitors may participate in one, two, three, or all four. The more you participate, the more comprehensive your library of seasonal change photographs. Admission is $15 per car, or $5 with an annual pass. The fee includes parking as well as admission to the 10 a.m. “Sharpen Your Photography Skills” workshop for ages 8 and up. Separate registration is required for each program. To pre-register, email your name and the number of adults and children, with their ages, to info@friendsspp.org.
