A 29-year-old woman was killed when the car she was driving crashed into a truck in hometown of Rocky Point on Friday morning.
Suffolk County police said Michelle McDonald was driving a Mercedes sedan eastbound on Route 25A when her vehicle collided with a Mack dump truck that was backing out of a driveway at 6 a.m.
The victim was taken to John T. Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, where she was pronounced dead.
The truck driver, 43-year-old Brad Parnell of South Setauket, was not injured.
Motor Carrier Safety Section officers inspected the truck and impounded the Mercedes.
Seventh Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-852-8752.
