Kerin Slattery of Massapequa recently completed a breast cancer fund raising walk—the annual LI2Day Walk–walking 13.1 miles to raise funds for breast cancer organizations on Long Island. Slattery was part of the Adelphi Team, representing the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program, one of the recipients of grants from LI2Day. This year the team raised nearly $16,000.
This is the third year that Slattery has done the walk. She says that many of her friends, colleagues and family members have had breast cancer and that she walks and raises money to support the efforts of as the Adelphi Program. All the money raised goes to local Long Island groups.
