Christen Patalano, a Mineola PAL Lacrosse alum, was awarded the junior varsity “A” MVP award for lacrosse at Kellenberg Memorial High School. She hopes to play Division-1 lacrosse in college.
A sophomore captain, Patalano has taken a personal interest in the improvement and success of the team, and consistently leads by example. The combination of her individual talent and her unselfish play has been instrumental in the team’s success.
Connor Smith won Most Improved Player for the boy’s varsity baseball team. When last year ended, the coaching staff wasn’t sure what role Smith would play on this year’s varsity team. That all changed towards the end of the season as he made the most of his playing time and proved to the coaches that he should be in the everyday line up.
At designated hitter, Smith excelled and went into the playoffs batting well over .300.
