Summer Gazebo Concert Series
Garden City’s Department of Recreation and Parks will hold its Gazebo Concert Series on the village green (corner of Stewart and Hilton avenues.) This week, Tommy Sullivan will be appearing. All concerts begin at 7:15 p.m. Bring chairs or blankets. Concerts are held rain or shine. In the event of less than perfect weather, the concert will be held at the Cultural and Performing Arts Center in St. Paul’s Cluett Hall at 295 Stewart Ave.

Friday Night Promenade
Every Friday during the summer, Seventh Street will be closed for the “Friday Night Promenades,” from 6 until 10 p.m. There will outdoor dining, live entertainment, face painting, balloon animals and much more. Shops will remain open.
Saturday, July 11
Defensive Driving Course
The Knights of Columbus Council 15809 is once again offering a defensive driving course. It will be given at Saint Joseph’s Church in Garden City located at 130 Fifth St. The course will take place in the St. Agnes Room from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $45 per person. Marvelous Movie Matinée
A screening of the 1990 John Schlesigner thriller Pacific Heights starring Matthew Modine, Melanie Griffith and Michael Keaton will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Garden City Public Library. The event will be held in Meeting Room B. For more information, call 516-742-8405.
Game Night
Get together with other YAs for Game Night to be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Enjoy trivia games, Bingo, Pictionary and more board games. Bring your favorite board game to share. Baking With The Baking Coach
Do some baking with the Baking Coach on Tuesday, July 14. Attendees will be making ice cream cone cookies for children ages 2 ½ to 5 (not entering kindergarten in fall 2015) and an adult caregiver at 11:30 a.m., Ninja Turtle cupcakes for children entering grades k to 2 at 1 p.m., and superhero cupcakes for children entering grades 3 to 5 at 2:30 p.m. Registration is required online via Eventkeeper (www.gardencitypl.org). Paint Party
Cecilia Cargill of Authentic HeARTwork, an artist with the Town of Oyster Bay Rotational Art Exhibit Program will host a Paint Party for YAs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Paintings will be created on canvasses supported by easels & then taken home.
