The sixth annual David Lerner Associates Charity Car Show will take place July 26 at the financial planning firm’s Syosset headquarters at 477 Jericho Tpke. All proceeds from the event will be donated directly to the Nassau-Suffolk Chapter of the Autism Society of America to assist families affected by autism.
“The charity car show is an event we look forward to organizing every year because it’s both fun for the community and also helps raise funds to support a great cause,” said John Dempsey, president of David Lerner Associates. “I would like to thank all of our sponsors for their generous support.”
The show, which is held in conjunction with the Centurion Cruisers Car Club, will be open to the public free of charge from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. It is expected to feature more than 100 restored, classic, custom and high-performance cars. Car owners interested in participating in the show can register their automobile for $15.
Last year’s car show featured more than 75 cars and raised $2,760 through raffle sales, food purchases, entry fees and donations. David Lerner Associates then matched that amount, which brought the amount donated to $5,560. Since the annual event’s inception in 2010, David Lerner Associates has contributed more than $15,000 to help benefit the Nassau-Suffolk Chapter of the Autism Society of America.
Along with the car show, the event will also offer musical performances by the band The Brooklyn Time Machine and food will be provided by local businesses including Woodbury Deli, Bagel Boss Hicksville, The Bakery, Carvel, Iavarone Bros., Gabby’s Gourmet Bagelatessen, Panera Bread, D’Lites Ice Cream and Fresh Yogurt, Syosset Cards and Gifts and Syosset Beverage.
