Assemblyman Joseph Saladino joined with State Senators Michael Venditto and Kemp Hannon as well as Assemblyman Thomas McKevitt, Nassau County Legislator James Kennedy, Supervisor John Venditto and Town Clerk James Altadonna at the Massapequa Railroad Station for a grand re-opening, after the Long Island Railroad completed a twenty million dollar overhaul of the station. The remodeling included new platforms, a new canopy, vintage styled lighting fixtures containing high tech low energy use LED bulbs, a new waiting room, and a new elevator and escalator among many other improvements. The project, which state officials said was completed on time and on budget, was part of the master plan of the MTA’s capital budget.
