On Dec. 13, 1966, the Mineola American reported that postal employees at the U.S. Post Office Sectional Center on Pennsylvania Avenue in Mineola were blamed by residents for parking conditions on Nassau Boulevard and in the municipal parking field, since the Mineola Village Board had banned parking on Pennsylvania Avenue from Monday through Friday. Employees were then said to be parking on Pennsylvania Avenue.
The village would go on to ban parking on Nassau Boulevard. The postal workers voiced strong objections at a village board meeting.
