A hit-and-run driver killed a 30-year-old Brentwood man in Bay Shore early Saturday morning.

Suffolk County police said Elvin Ponce was struck by an eastbound vehicle on Redington Street east of Brook Avenue at 3:10 a.m.

The victim was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle that fled the scene is described as a dark-colored, four door sedan with possible front end damage.

Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
