Five seniors at The Wheatley School have been named as semifinalists in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship program. They are: Krista Chen, Luke Cuomo, Mohammad Khanzada, Ashley Kim and Andrew Zuckerman.
As semifinalists, these students scored in the top one-half of one percent of the more than 1.4 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools who entered the program by taking the PSAT last year.
The semifinals are now eligible to compete for Merit Scholarship awards worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring.
