20th Annual New Ground Golf Outing And Dinner

New Ground recently held its 20th Annual Golf Outing and Dinner at Garden City’s Cherry Valley Club. They honored the Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP), a nonprofit, which provides housing opportunities to those who would be unable to afford decent and safe homes in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Peter J. Elkowitz, president and Chief Executive Officer of LIHP and James Britz, senior vice president of LIHP, were recognized by New Ground for their leadership and commitment in the affordable housing arena and their support of Long Island neighborhood revitalization projects. All those in attendance enjoyed a beautiful summer day, brunch, golf, competitions on the course, cocktail hour, Chinese auction and dinner. Participation in the outing helped to raise much needed funds. Proceeds from this event will benefit homeless families and veterans in New Ground’s Long Term Housing Program.

New Ground is committed to educating and empowering families as well as individuals who are caught in the vicious cycle of homelessness. Founded in 1991, New Ground recognizes that the key to solving homelessness is not only to help the families who are homeless, but also work at preventing it in the future.
