A 31-year-old man was shot to death in front of a strip mall in New Cassel on Monday evening, Nassau County police said.

Officers responded to a report of a man shot at the corner of Prospect and Brooklyn avenues and upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshots at 6:16 p.m., police said.

The victim, whose identity wasn’t immediately released, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a half hour later.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information regarding the above crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
