Gail Sheehy Lecture At Temple Sinai

Gail_111815AOn Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m., New York Times best-selling author, Gail Sheehy will be speaking at Temple Sinai about her latest book, Daring: My Passages: A Memoir.

This candid, insightful book is the story of Sheehy’s unconventional life as a writer who dared to walk the streets of New York City to expose violent prostitution, to march with civil rights protesters in Northern Ireland as British paratroopers opened fire and to seek out Egypt’s president Anwar Sadat when he was targeted for death after making peace with Israel.

Sheehy represents one of the significant voices of our times, and her memoir is a fascinating read.

Attendees we meet Sheehy and later hear about her personal journey through a lifetime of writing about her experiences as an award-winning author and newspaperwoman.

The evening will also feature a discussion and book signing. Daring: My Passages: A Memoir will be available for purchase.

Sheehy is a master journalist who has covered national and world leaders and broken many cultural taboos. She is one of the original contributors to New York magazine and is a seven-time recipient of the New York Newswomen’s Club Front Page Award for distinguished journalism.
