Palmira_120215ARoslyn Heights resident Palmira Cataliotti has been named as a cochair to lead the American Red Cross’s board of directors on Long Island. Cataliotti is a senior vice president and chief financial officer at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola.

The Long Island Red Cross board is comprised of 38 business and community leaders who volunteer their time to help oversee the organization’s mission on Long Island.

“I am thrilled to see Palmira and Bill oversee our board of directors on Long Island,” said John Miller, CEO of the American Red Cross on Long Island. “I know that their experience, enthusiasm and community spirit will allow the organization to continue to grow to meet the needs of the people of Long Island.”

“The Red Cross has and always has had one primary goal: to alleviate human suffering,” said Cataliotti. “I am truly honored to take on a more direct role in supporting this noble cause.”

At Winthrop, Cataliotti is responsible for all aspects of finance at the hospital and affiliated entities, where she develops and implements the annual operating, capital and cash budgets.

Cataliotti is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the NY State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Cataliotti also serves as a member of the Hospital Association of New York State Statewide Committee on Health Finance.

Cataliotti resides in Roslyn Heights with her husband and two daughters.
