East Patchogue Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Car

A 56-year-old Mastic Beach man was fatally hit by a car while crossing a road in East Patchogue over the weekend, Suffolk County police said.

Peter Alker was crossing Sills Road when he was hit by a northbound Hyundai Sonata at 8 p.m. Friday, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The 36-year-old East Patchogue woman driving the car plus her two passengers, a man and a 1-year-old girl, were not injured.

Fifth Squad detectives impounded the vehicle, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information about the incident to call them at 631-854-8552 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
