The first Port Washington Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting of the year was held on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Ayhan’s f.i.s.h. on Main. Approximately 50 members of the chamber attended this month, as well as Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton.

The drug can be used to prevent heroine and other opiod drug overdoses, such as morphine, oxycodone, methadone, dentanyl, hydrocodone, codeine, hydromorphine and buprenorphine. A seminar about Narcan will be held at North Shore High School on Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. For more information go to www.nassaucountyny.gov/overdose. Police Chief James Salerno and Deputy Chief Robert Del Muro were at the chamber meeting and said that all Port Washington Police District police officers are trained in administering Narcan.
In other business, the chamber welcomed new member Terri Davis of People’s United Bank.
