The Friends of the Library’s (FOL) 47th Annual Book & Author Luncheon will be held Friday, May 13, at the North Hills Country Club in Manhasset.
Pulitzer-prize winner Stacy Schiff will speak about her bestselling nonfiction book, The Witches: Salem 1692, and Garth Risk Hallberg will speak about his highly acclaimed debut novel, City on Fire. Port’s own bestselling novelist Susan Isaacs returns as program moderator.
Reservation brochures will be available beginning April 1 in the library and online at www.pwpl.org/fol. Tickets will be $75 each.
The FOL welcomes individual and corporate luncheon sponsors beginning at $250 (one complimentary seat) and ranging up to $5,000 (eight complimentary seats). Sponsors are guaranteed seating, bypassing the first-come, first-served ticketing process, a key benefit as the luncheon quickly sells out. In addition, sponsors receive publicity and are featured on signage at the event. Sponsorships help the FOL fund current and new initiatives at the library.
FOL Board Members Margaret DeSiervo (margaretdesiervo@yahoo.com, 516-883-2722) and Nancy Wright (nprw@aol.com, 516-883-8418) are happy to answer questions about sponsorships.
Founded in 1966, the Friends of the Library is celebrating its 50th year of service to the library. The FOL is an independent nonprofit organization that supports the library through volunteerism, fundraising, programming, outreach and advocacy.
